Our keynote speaker is Summer McAfee\, an Impact Austin leader\, a member of the Board of Directors of I Live Here I Give Here\, and an active supporter of numerous non-profit organizations. \nCLICK THIS LINK TO RSVP \n\nSeating is limited; payment in full will reserve your seat.\n$35 per person\, payable by credit card.\nThe last day to RSVP is Wednesday\, September 27\, 2023 at 5:00 PM.\nAfter you RSVP\, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to pay the fee.\n\n\nProspective members and guests are welcome! \n\nIf you have questions about the luncheon\, contact info@seedsofstrength.org. \nAbout our speaker: \nSummer McAfee is a bridge builder of people\, and helping people connect across Austin in meaningful ways sparks joy for her. She is in a season of exploring her next best career move. She is grateful to have been part of the USAA team for 23 years and most recently served as a lead program manager for the Chief Design Office. She has been part of the military community her entire life as her dad served 24 years in the Air Force and that sparked her advocacy for military families. She has an MBA in Business Administration/Marketing from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She completed the Nonprofit Leadership certificate from the University of Texas and the certification for the National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional (NDCCDP) in 2020. \nOutside of work Summer is passionate about volunteering and engaging in community outreach events with an emphasis on military kids\, STEM initiatives\, and youth empowerment programs. Her favorite annual event is the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) national good grief camp which provides a safe space for military children to explore grief and embrace healing. She currently serves as a board member and on the Community Advisory Council (CAC) for I Live Here I Give Here. \nSummer is a member of Impact Austin and co-chair for Girls Giving Grants (g3) collaborating with young ladies in 8th-12th grade. She also serves on the I Live Here I Give Here Board of Directors. She is the 2023 Membership Chair for Circle of Impact (giving circle) that supports Dress for Success Austin and was awarded the 2020 volunteer of the year by Dress for Success Austin. She is a 2021 fellow for the inaugural cohort of the African American Leadership Institute (AALI). She is a 2022\, 2021\, and 2020 recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award for completing 250+ volunteer hours annually in support of military families. She also enjoys earning medals from virtual races\, live music\, exploring museums\, and trying new local restaurants/food trucks.
