Williamson-Burnet County Opportunities has $10,000 for expanding senior nutrition and the Meals on Wheels program in Georgetown

 

“Your donation could not have come at a better time. You are helping us to feed our seniors in a BIG way. We were recently told that our funding would be cut by 5.6% from the Older Americans Act (OAA) this year. We get about half our funds from the OAA through the Area Agency on Aging so that was quite a blow. The Area Agency on Aging has also told us that they will not be able to pay us the full contract amount for our meals for the next two months. Needless to say, a dire emergency was on hand. We will still maintain a waiting list, but at least those seniors who are currently program participants will continue to get the meals they so desperately need. Your dollars could not go to a better place. Please accept our sincere gratitude for recognizing those seniors who are trying live out their lives the best they can, at home. They deserve to be able to do that. Thank you so much!”
