Southwestern University, in collaboration with First United Methodist Church, Georgetown, will be implementing P.A.S.S. a new pilot program providing after school enrichment activities for 30 at-risk, low-income students attending Georgetown’s Tippit Middle School. The program will promote academic achievement and positive identity through learning. Thirty Southwestern students will provide one-on-one tutoring to the middle school students. The $23,000 grant will support the Program Director stipend, salaries for two Southwestern Student Coordinators, bus transportation from Tippit to Southwestern, and program supplies.
