As we wrap up a vibrant and historic giving season, I find myself looking back on the incredible journey we have shared. Serving as the leader of Seeds of Strength over the past year has been one of the most profound honors of my life. To witness firsthand the dedication, brilliance, and heart that each of you pours into this organization has been a truly humbling experience – and the absolute highlight of my tenure.
Our results this year were nothing short of extraordinary. Because of your unwavering commitment to our mission, we met and exceeded every goal we set for ourselves, proving once again that our collective “power of the purse” is a force for transformative change.
A Historic Milestone
At our Annual Grantee Awards last Thursday, we experienced the true joy of our labor. It was a privilege to see so many of your faces there as we celebrated our community and awarded $180,000 in new grants to 8 deserving organizations. And…we reached a monumental milestone together: Our total lifetime giving has now officially surpassed $2.5 million!
These numbers represent so much more than just financial transactions; they represent a lifeline to the community we love. To date, Seeds of Strength has empowered over 47 organizations to expand their reach and deepen their roots, ultimately touching the lives of more than 70,000 residents across Georgetown. Whether by securing food dignity, enhancing education, enriching children’s lives or supporting local healthcare, your contributions have stepped in to fill the essential gaps that traditional giving so often misses.
Looking Back with Pride, Looking Forward with Hope
We have done exceptionally well, and I want each of you to take a moment to truly celebrate this success – and enjoy the celebratory pictures inside this newsletter. It is our shared vision that allows these incredible non-profits to tackle large-scale projects they simply couldn’t fund alone.
Thank you for showing up, for giving generously, and for making our May 21 celebration so unforgettable. Let us cherish how far we have come, and look forward with excitement to the even greater impact we will continue to make, together.
