May 22, 2025 was a most special day for Seeds of Strength — it’s when members and guests got together at the annual luncheon to celebrate the distribution of 2025’s grants! Funds were awarded to 10 area nonprofits, each thanked with loud rounds of applause for their commitment and service to our community. The annual meeting/luncheon also marks passing of the baton to next year’s leadership when we both look back and look forward.
The excitement was summarized perfectly in this excerpt from Outgoing President Amy Bawcom’s message to members after the meeting: “What an incredible year it has been! Thanks to your generosity, commitment, and shared belief in the power of collective giving, our 2024–25 giving season was a remarkable success. Together, we awarded over $159,000 through 7 grants and 3 merit awards, and made history by awarding our first Founders Grant of $5,000. This brings our total giving since 2010 to an inspiring $2,367,488. Each dollar we’ve given is a seed planted in our community — growing hope, expanding opportunity and creating meaningful change.”
