“The Caring Place has been serving families in crisis in Georgetown and Northern Williamson County since 1985. Our continued success is largely dependent upon the ongoing support received from the community – including the 2012 Seeds of Strength organization.

The Caring Place wants to thank SOS for your support of our Coats For Kids 2012 program. The number of children who receive new winter coats has increased annually in recent years. In 2011, The Caring Place provide 1,222 coats to children from 690 families, as opposed to 1,132 in 2010. We anticipate needing to obtain nearly 1,400 coats for this fall’s distribution. Your investment in this valued program will enable us to begin the coat shopping early and increase the chances of obtaining the diversity of styles and sizes we need.

In 2011, The Caring Place returned over $502,000 to families in the community through our direct financial assistance programs, and provided goods and services valued at another $498,000! This included more than 355 tons of food provided through our five feeding programs – the equivalent of 591,000 meals!

The Caring Place hosts a Lunch n Learn on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays every month to help educate and inform the community about how we accomplish our mission. The event lasts from 11:30 to 1:30 and includes lunch, a short presentation, and a comprehensive behind‐the‐scenes agency tour to see the more than 400 Caring Place volunteers in action. Please call Executive Director John Stock at 943‐0701 to reserve your spot at the table.

Thank you again, Seeds of Strength, for your support of our programs and of the children in need in our community.”
