Georgetown is changing. If you’ve been to the Square on the weekend or visited HEB around 5pm lately, you know we still are one of the fastest-growing areas in the country. And as our population swells, so does a quiet, urgent need that doesn’t always make the headlines.

Growth brings vibrancy, but it also creates gaps. And in those gaps are our neighbors.

The Faces Behind the Numbers

When we talk about “strained resources,” we are really talking about:

  • The senior citizen who has lived here for forty years but can no longer drive to the grocery store or the doctor, feeling the walls of isolation close in.
  • The young student trying to focus on a math test while their stomach growls because there wasn’t enough for breakfast at home.
  • The new mother holding her infant, overwhelmed and unsure where to turn for the prenatal care that ensures her baby’s healthy start.
  • The adolescent struggling with a mental health crisis in a world that feels increasingly loud and uncertain.

Why March 1st Matters to Them

As your Compliance Chair, I have walked alongside the organizations that serve these people. I learned about how lives were stabilized because a Seeds of Strength grant was there when it mattered most. I have seen hope restored where there was once only a “funding gap.”

Currently, we have 17 organizations waiting at our door. Among them are six brand-new nonprofits that have seen the rising need and stepped up to meet it.

Our Goal is Not a Number – It’s a “Yes.”

The Seeds of Strength 2026 Membership Campaign isn’t just about reaching a target on a spreadsheet. It is about how many times we get to say “Yes.”

  • Yes, we can fund that mental health program.
  • Yes, we can provide those meals.
  • Yes, we can support that mother.

Every membership added before March 1 directly determines how many of these transformative projects go unfunded. We don’t want to turn anyone away because we lacked the resources. We want our generosity to grow faster than our zip code.

Georgetown’s growth is remarkable, but our community’s heart is even greater. Let’s ensure that as our city expands, no one is left behind in the shadows.

Your vote, your membership, and your heart are the seeds of a stronger Georgetown.
